MIA...blog time

So I've been busy with you know...life.  So I decided it's time for a blog.  Today's blog will be about a super easy recipe I found online.  I have a major sweet tooth and love dessert shops, so I love making mug cakes at the end of a long day.  Here's a super easy recipe (credits to food.com):

P.S. I always have a tub of frosting in my fridge...lol

Ingredients

    • 4 tablespoons flour ( cake flour)
    • 4 tablespoons sugar
    • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, any kind
    • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder ( a pinch!)
    • 1/8 teaspoon salt ( a pinch!!)
    • 1 eggs, beaten
    • 3 tablespoons milk
    • 3 tablespoons oil
    • 2 -3 drops vanilla (optional)

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa, tiny pinch baking powder and tiny pinch salt. (This can also be mixed directly into a large mug).
  2. Add egg and mix into dry mixture.
  3. Add oil and milk and mix well.
  4. Grease a tall, large mug, and pour in this mixture, scraping out with a spatula.
  5. Place in microwave on High for 2 1/2 - 3 minutes.
  6. (Best slightly undercooked, so be careful).

ESL

If you've been overseas to any country that English is it's second language you will find these amazing messages with misused words and grammar.  I think some of the best typos and error are in menus that try to attract foreigners.  So let me tell you how we came upon this funny message.

So one night my friend and I wanted to go out to the bars and started walking around.  Soon enough we ended up in the bright lively neighborhood and thought it must be the bar area.  Little did we know where we actually ended up.  After we walked around we realized that the crowd was a much older not only in age but mostly men.  Then we realized that there was a bunch of girls standing in areas in dresses, like prom dresses.  Once we put two in two we realized that were in the "Red light district."  Seeing that we were foreigners we just walked around some more and entertained our selves with our new surrounds.  After a while we found a restaurant and had some amazing grilled BBQ and met some local students.  It was quite amazing to just mix and mingle with the locals.

Anyhow, before we found a place to eat we saw this funny sign right in front of a bar and I had to take a picture of it!  So enjoy!

Aspirin & Honey Facial Mask

Do it yourself! Here's one the best face mask out there and it's super cheap. Once in a while I like to relax and have a spa night and I found this simple mask made of aspirin and honey! I use to use aspirin as an exfoliator at one point, but now I just use this mask once in a while. So if your looking for some thing cheap and effective I suggest making this mask once in a while.

So I was browsing blogs and ran across this article.  I thought it was quite crazy, but you know Japanese fashion and trends are a couple year before us.  So check it out and let me know what you think.

I SPY

So for labor day weekend I didn't do anything too exciting, but I ended up spending some quality time with my mom at her garden.  Like very Hmong women my mom has to have a garden every year since it's what she know best and what she was raised to do.  I on the other hand I'm quite the opposite, I rarely like to garden and I don't have the patience to go weeding and wait for the harvest.  Although as I'm getting older I'm starting to appreciate it more and realize it's kinda nice to see what you can grow with your owns hands.

Well on this mom and daughter bonding day it was a super nice day not too sunny and a bit cloudy.  The temperature was just right as well with cool breeze from the east.  Overall I would say it was a great day to enjoy with my mom.  Anyhow, the last time I went to her garden was probably three weeks ago; I barely like to go to the garden in the summer because it's hot.  Although I do love to go to the garden around this time because almost everything is in season.  So today I'll share with you what I saw at the garden!

What to watch: One Day

I think this is one of the best movie of the summer! When my sister's and I went to the movie theater we had no idea what to watch that night. Somehow, we concluded that we like Anne Hathaway and ended up watching this movie. I somewhat knew it was about a couple but really had no idea what it was about. All I have to say is that I'm so glad we watched it and by far this is my movie of the summer!

In the movie there's so many parts that relate to me at the moment. At one point she is 25 and ends up working at burrito restaurant after she graduated. Seriously if you know me, that's me right now. A recent graduate and unemployed at the age of 25, what more can I say. Later on there's this sentence that the main guy says, "those who can do, and those who can't teach." When I herd that I was like is that what I'm going to resort to? Teaching English in a foreign country? I don't mind the thought of being a foreign country, but the thought that I have resort to teaching because I have no other choice. Either way this move shows how love develops with two individuals and I love the story line and the end is...let's just say you have to watch it!

So, "what ever happens tomorrow, we still have today. I'll always remember it!"
